Sam & Watson at the Annecy MIFA Pitches

After a first presentation at the Cartoon Forum in September 2025, followed by participation in the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) in Taipei in November 2025, Sam & Watson continues its international development with a major new milestone: its selection for the 2026 MIFA Pitches at the Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy.

Out of 882 submitted projects, the series is among those selected to be pitched on June 23.

Written by Ciaran Murtagh and Andrew Barnett-Jones, directed by Mor Israeli and co-developed with Eugène Boitsov, the series adapts the world created by Ghislaine Dulier and Bérengère Delaporte and published by Glénat.

This new selection marks another step in the project’s development and ongoing engagement with international markets. Following its first introduction to the European market at Cartoon Forum and further exchanges in Asia, Annecy offers a new opportunity to present the series to broadcasters, co-producers, and international partners.

The project is developed with the support of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée, the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, CITIA, and the Région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, and continues to bring together partners from a wide range of backgrounds.
