Cinema Meets Young Audiences

Cinema is more than a screen — it is a space for dialogue, a bridge to understanding the world. At Piano Sano, this commitment naturally extends into classrooms, independent cinemas, and schools across France.

This school year 2025/26 marks a milestone we are collectively proud of: 50 screenings held, over 5,000 students reached, across 11 regions.

Sessions built around teachers

Each screening is shaped around the teachers’ pedagogical goals. Films are selected based on the themes they wish to explore with their students — social issues, contemporary questions, the language of cinema itself. It is this dialogue between the film and the room that gives each session its own texture.

We are notably involved in the Lycéens et apprentis au cinéma scheme in the Hauts-de-France region, as well as the Corps sensible programme, which addresses adolescence and body acceptance. Afloat, a film by Ève Chems de Brouwer, is central to this initiative.

Cinema as a professional horizon

Throughout these encounters, we also talk with students about careers in cinema — from production and distribution to writing, directing, and the technical crafts. The idea is straightforward: to give the next generation not only the tools to understand cinema, but the desire to be part of it.

A huge thank you to all the schools, cultural partners, and institutional programmes that make these encounters possible.
